Underinsuring Your Life

Most people who have dependents who rely on their income realize they need life insurance but most don’t take a deep enough look at how much insurance is appropriate. One common mistake people make when planning their life insurance is thinking the small policy they get through work is sufficient, but most employers don’t provide more than one year’s annual salary. How will your dependents pay for their needs after the first year? Another mistake is not revisiting your life insurance needs as your life changes.  When you get married, have children, increase your income and living expenses, buy a house, or take on other debt you need to add more coverage.  Keep in mind there are no one size fits all solutions.  Our advice is to sit down with an agent at Mann and Watters and let us help you analyze your current policies and your current needs to make sure you are not one of the many who are underinsured.
