Your employee benefit program plays an important role in employee job satisfaction and longevity. Since 1989, Mann & Watters has serviced the insurance needs of employer sponsored insurance plans throughout North and South Carolina.

We can assist in the development and implementation of cost-effective benefit programs that will meet the needs of both business owners and employees. We offer the following types of plans for your business: Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, and Long Term Care. All plans are available for groups of two or more employees, with the exception of self-funded medical plans.

  • Medical – to provide first dollar preventive care. To provide payments to physicians and facilities in the event of sickness or injury. To prevent a financial burden in the event of sickness or injury.
    Carriers include: BCBS of NC, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Inclusive Health, First Carolina Care
  • Dental – to provide payments to for needed dental care
    Carriers include: BCBS of NC, United Healthcare, Ameritas, Delta Dental, Securian, MetLife, Companion Life, Guardian Life, Allways Care, The Principal
  • Life – to provide financial protection in the event of death. Often used to provide for family members in the event of the unexpected loss of a parent, providing monies for mortgages, education, and ongoing income for the surviving family members. Also used for business loans, buy-sell agreements, key personnel, and estate tax funding.
    Carriers include: American General, Lincoln Financial, ING, Mutual of Omaha, Prudential, Protective Life, Transamerica, Banner Life, North American Life, Genworth, The Principal
  • Disability – used to replace the loss of income due to a disabling illness or injury.
    Carriers include: MetLife, The Principal, Guardian, UNUM, Standard, Lloyd’s of London, Mutual of Omaha, Genworth
  • Long Term Care – used to protect the estate and assets of an individual or couple. Used when an individual is in need of some level of custodial care such as home health care, assisted living, or nursing home stays.
    Carriers include: Transamerica, Mutual of Omaha, Genworth
  • Medicare Supplements – used for individuals over age 65 to pay for medical expenses that Medicare doesn’t.
    Carriers include: BCBS of NC, Mutual of Omaha
  • Medicare Advantage – another type of Medicare supplement policy, usually less expensive, with higher insured out of pocket costs.
    Carriers include: BCBS of NC, Mutual of Omaha
  • Estate Planning Life Insurance Policies – used to provide immediate funds needed for estate taxes for larger estates. This often helps heirs avoid having to liquidate other assets in order to pay the estate taxes.
  • Key Man Life – used to provide a business with income in the event of the death of a key person in the company.
  • Buy Sell Life – used to provide a funding mechanism for the timely transfer of ownership in the event of death of an owner.
  • Critical Illness – these supplemental plans make cash payments directly to insured’s in the event of a critical illness such as heart attack, stroke, or cancer.
    Carriers include: AFLAC, Guardian, Allstate, Colonial
  • Hospital Indemnity – these supplemental plans make cash payments directly to insured’s in the event of a hospital stay.
    Carriers include: AFLAC, Guardian, Allstate, Colonial
  • Supplemental Insurance – these supplemental plans refer to a variety of plans such as cancer plans, accident plans, critical illness plans, and hospital plans.
    Carriers include: AFLAC, Guardian, Allstate, Colonial
  • Limited Medical Plans – these are medical plans that pay limited benefits in the event of illness or accident. These plans usually have a much lower maximum benefit than a full major medical plan would have.

  • International Medical Plans – these plans provide medical coverage for those traveling overseas for an extended period of time.
    Carriers include: International Medical Group
  • Short Term Medical Plans – medical plans that are limited to a period of 1-6 months. Often used for college graduates or individuals between jobs.
    Carriers include: Assurant, Golden Rule
  • Flexible Benefit Plans – employer sponsored reimbursement arrangements that provide tax advantages for out of pocket medical costs, child care costs, and health insurance premiums.
  • HSA’s – a type of health insurance plan that combines a high deductible health plan with a tax advantage savings account.
  • HRA’s – an employer sponsored health expense reimbursement arrangement.
  • Self Funded Medical Plans – a program whereby an employer takes on more of the financial risk in a group health plan. The employer is protected financially in the event of large claims.

As long as someone pays, except for short term medical. Group plans are priced for 12 month. MW reviews each groups plan at renewal for competitive pricing and benefits structure.

The plan that the employer can afford to pay at least 50% of, and one that gives the employees protection from a catastrophic financial loss in the event of an illness or injury. A group plan that is seen by employees as part of their compensation and a company benefit.
