Disability, Is It That Important?

Our goal is to help our clients manage their exposure to risk. We talk to our clients about health insurance, life insurance, long term care and disability insurance. With all the adds and commercials for life and health insurance, they tend to be the main worries for families and businesses we work with. Disability seems to get left behind our put on a back burner for another day. I came across this article on Disability Statistics and I think the numbers really put things in perspective. If you become disabled, which if you are 32 you have a 4 to 1 chance of becoming disabled over death before retirement, would you be prepared to continue to provide for yourself and family? Becoming disabled something that we don’t want to think about, but a conversation is the first step making sure you and your family are protected.
